Residents came out to help the environment Saturday for the 10th annual Saw Mill River Cleanup.

It's all part of the Westchester Earth Day event.

Westchester businesses, elected officials, nonprofits and hundreds of residents joined forces in honor of the cleanup's 10-year anniversary.

Volunteers were able to join at seven different locations along the Saw Mill River. This year, just like previous cleanups, some strange objects turned up.

"There's just a lot of different trash this year," says Wendy Zimmerman, board chair of groundwork. "We got parts of a sink, we got a very strange-looking boot before, we got in parts of a dentist chair."

Every year the county measures the trash collected and last year they collected five tons of litter. Organizers are saying there seems to be less trash this year.
