HEAT ALERT: Is another summer heat wave on the horizon for Long Island?

There will be sun and clouds this afternoon with a pop-up  shower or thunderstorm possible.

After rounds of downpours Tuesday, the overnight radar will be quiet on Long Island.
The evening should feature partly cloudy skies with patchy fog across the region. Temperatures should fall to the low to mid-70s tonight.
The warm, humid air settling in will lead to a foggy morning commute.
Wednesday will be a warm and humid day with a small chance for storms. By the afternoon, it will feel like more than 95 degrees in many places!
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory starting Wednesday at 11 a.m.
With a Bermuda high helping to control the forecast, extreme heat will be ushered and settled into the area by Thursday.
The forecast calls for feels like temperatures near 100 degrees on Thursday for many towns! The heat and humidity and a passing cold front late Thursday are the perfect ingredients to kickstart storms in the tri-state area.
Behind the front, rain chances lower. Friday should be an overall quiet day with temperatures in the upper 80s/low 90s.
Saturday is the best day of the week! With temperatures in the low to mid-80s, Saturday should be a nice day. Humidity should also take a brief break behind the front before the weather changes again on Sunday.

TOMORROW: Hot and humid. Highs in the upper 80s. Feels like 90 degrees and above.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Warm and muggy. Chance for storms. Low in the mid 70s.
THURSDAY: Hot and humid. Chance for showers and storms. Highs in the low 90s. Feel like 100!
FRIDAY: Sun and clouds. Highs in the low 90s.
SATURDAY: Nice. Lower humidity. Highs in the mid-80s.
