The snow put residents across the Hudson Valley to work early on Saturday morning.
"Well, I already got up and shoveled, did everything, cleaned the car off," Rob Arciola, of Yonkers, said.
Despite the snow, Arciola said the roads weren't too rough for him.
"Usually, I think they're a little bit worse," he said.
Decent driving conditions were made possible in part by the Department of Public Works in Yonkers.
"Today, we're just cleaning up the snow that we got during the night," said Commissioner Thomas Meier. "We've had about 30 trucks out throughout the night plowing and salting."
Meier said he was confident that his crews could handle the operation.
"It's a nice shakeout operation for when we get some real snow," he said.
