Hudson Valley creatives, parents react to looming TikTok ban
While many Westchester creators aren't in favor a ban, some parents like Lauren Tesoriere, said they there.
Many Hudson Valley creatives are sharing their reaction to the news that TikTok could be banned in the United States as soon as this Sunday.
Rye native Nick Pinsker said his TikTok videos really kicked off his career in social media, and said he is unsure about the ban.
"It's gonna be a huge impact and it's not what most people want, I think, so," Pinsker said.
Media expert AJ Chiarella said he isn't in favor of a ban either. He teaches content creation at Mercy University and runs a TikTok account called The 914 Collective.
"If TikTok gets banned in America, a lot of people are going to have to rework their businesses, some people will be out of a business in general," Chiarella said.
One person in the business world who uses TikTok to promote her work is Scarsdale realtor Colleen Cushman.
She said the app has expanded her network quicker than any other social media platform. However, with a ban looming she said she'll have to get creative with the way that she markets herself.
"A big part of life, and the real estate industry in general, is adapting," Cushman said.

"Anything that can be done to restrict access to really any social media, for our kids especially, I'm in favor of," the mom said.
