Hudson River Gateway Rail gets an additional $3.8B in funding for tunnel project

This next phase will build the concrete casing for trains to pass through under Hudson Yards on the west side.

Gov. Hochul and other state officials announced Friday that the massive new Hudson River Gateway rail project between New York and New Jersey is getting an additional $3.8 billion in federal funding for the next phase of the $16.1 billion project.
This next phase will build the concrete casing for trains to pass through under Hudson Yards on the west side.
Construction of the tunnel is expected to begin in 2025.
