A group of veterans received some long overdue honors.
Six World War II veterans took an "Honor Flight" to the nation's capital Saturday to visit the World War II Memorial.
"It's the greatest honor of my life outside of my marriage," said veteran Lawrence Hughes.
The veterans flew out of the Westchester County Airport for their all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C.
The veterans were also honored with medals and certificates in a special ceremony at Yonkers City Hall on Nov. 2.
