Two cousins were killed after their car hit a guard rail in Harrison after a night of partying Sunday.
Investigators are studying the remnants of the blue Mitsubishi involved in the crash on I-287 around 4:15 a.m. The two men reportedly were driving home to Stamford, Connecticut from a night of partying in downtown White Plains. Police say the accident occurred at such a high impact that the engine fell out of the car. They say the 24-year-old driver was not wearing a seat belt and died on impact after being thrown from the vehicle. His 24-year-old cousin was the passenger and was wearing a seat belt. He died at White Plains Hospital.
Police say speed was definitely a factor in the fatal accident. They are awaiting test results to determine if alcohol was also a factor.
