The first wave of 90 degree temperatures hit Westchester and the Hudson Valley over the weekend.
As a precaution the Westchester County Department of Health issued a heatstroke warning. If residents plan on going outside, health officials recommend several tips to stay cool.
Residents are advised to wear loose-fitting and light-colored clothing, drink plenty of water, and avoid hot foods, caffeine and alcohol.
Officials also warn to never leave a person or pet in a parked vehicle, even for a short period of time.
