Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
The New York State Liquor Authority has suspended the liquor license of a controversial Yonkers bar, effective immediately. Duo Tapas bar was the scene of a deadly shooting this past Sunday. The state Liquor Authority has charged the bar with multiple violations of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Law, including operating a disorderly premises, becoming a focal point for police attention and failure to supervise. During the suspension, the agency will prosecute these violations - the maximum penalty is revocation of the license.
A raging fire destroyed a home and killed the family's dog on Wednesday. Fire officials say that flames broke out at a home on Bedford Road just after 1 a.m. Flames could be seen shooting through the roof of the home. The two people inside were able to safely escape. A police officer suffered smoke inhalation. The fire chief says the fire was sparked by a space heater too close to combustible materials.
