More than a dozen people gathered at School 30 in Yonkers to remember their former classmate Sarah Lynch. The Westlake High School Senior died Monday afternoon after she struck a utility pole on Kensico Road. Lynch lived in Yonkers before moving to Mount Pleasant. "It was only right that we came to show our respects. This is where we started, we all grew up together. It was only right,” says friend Christopher Gauvin. "She was always so outgoing and lovable and so sweet and such a genuine person, it's just so sad that she was taken this soon," says friend Cassidy Fernandez.
A Yonkers man is facing serious charges after a crash that killed a 3-year-old boy. Officials say Jaime Sabogal had a suspended license when he hit the child and his mother as they walked in a crosswalk in East Harlem. He is being charged with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.
A driver is being charged nearly a year after a wrong-way crash on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Mount Pleasant. Anthony Rodriguez, 43, now faces a reckless driving charge after the crash left a woman in a coma.
