Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A Poughkeepsie man is facing charges after allegedly assaulting a police officer near Poughkeepsie Plaza on South Road. Police responded to a call regarding trespassing and property damage, resulting in a combative encounter. Ashton Dean is charged with assault, resisting arrest, and trespassing.
Kenneth Paddyfote, of Poughkeepsie, is facing charges for allegedly possessing two loaded guns. Paddyfote fled from responding officers and disposed of the handguns in a storm drain. He was apprehended and is charged with criminal possession of a weapon and stolen property. Both firearms were recovered.
A wrong-way crash occurred on I-84 West in the town of Kent, Putnam County. Edison Castro, allegedly under the influence, was driving in the wrong direction and collided with two vehicles. Castro was arrested for DWI and reckless driving. Three individuals are recovering from the incident.
