Thomas Basile, the code enforcement officer for the Town of Pawling, faces eavesdropping charges for allegedly recording fellow employees without their consent. Basile, hailing from Pleasant Valley, was arrested earlier this month and released on an appearance ticket. The current status of his employment with the town remains unclear.
In Dutchess County, Jose Cruz, a known drug dealer, finds himself back in custody after allegedly resuming the sale of fentanyl despite previous charges. Cruz was arrested for selling fentanyl in March, released on bail, and then apprehended again Monday while in possession of a loaded ghost gun. Additional weapons possession charges have been added to his existing drug-related charges.
State police in Westchester are actively searching for Michelle White, a 34-year-old woman with a traumatic brain injury. White was last seen on Gabriel Drive in the Town of Cortlandt on Friday night, wearing a blue Adidas sweater, blue sweatpants, and possibly a nose ring. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact the authorities.
