Here are some stories making headlines in the Hudson Valley.
No arrests have been made after a shooting that sent two people to the hospital in Middletown. Police say two men were shot in their lower part of their bodies just after 11 p.m. on Saturday near Dolson Avenue. The investigation closed down nearly seven blocks, starting at County Route 78, where an SUV was found riddled with bullets and its windows shattered. Both victims are in stable condition.
There was a shots fired incident in the city of Poughkeepsie. Police say it happened around 5:30 a.m. Sunday on North Clinton and Thompson streets. They say they recovered multiple shell casings from the scene. News 12 is told several cars fled the area before they arrived.
New efforts to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community are taking place Tuesday. Both Rockland County and the City of Yonkers are inviting the public to a National Night Out, and spend time with some of the men and women in blue. It’s a chance to connect and enjoy some food, entertainment, and more. One of the events will even have a fireworks show.
