Wegmans recalls several cheese products due to potential listeria contamination

The FDA says these items were all sold between July 1 and Aug. 12 in the cheese departments at all locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey.

Wegmans announced they are recalling several cheese products because of a potential listeria contamination, the Food and Drug Administration says.

The affected products are:

  • Wegmans Medium Camembert Soft Ripened Cheese, 8 oz with the best by dates of July 26, Aug. 12 and Aug 19.

  • Wegmans Grilling Camembert with Tapenade & Roasted Tomatoes, 10 oz.

  • Wegmans Carmel Apple Pecan Topped Brie Cheese, 13 oz.

The FDA says these items were all sold between July 1 and Aug. 12 in the cheese departments at all locations in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C

Customers are asked not to eat these products and return them for a full refund. Anyone with questions can contact Wegmans at 1-855-934-3663 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

No illnesses related to this recall have been reported.

Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in children, frail and elderly people. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness and nausea.
