A snow-covered roof collapsed in New Rochelle on Thursday. Emergency crews responded to Mavis Tire on North Avenue. It is not clear what caused the roof to cave, but officials say the weight of the snow may have been a factor. The section of the roof that collapsed was in the workshop area and the car lifts stopped the roof from collapsing further. News 12 is told two people were inside the office at the time. No one was hurt during the incident.

A fire broke out at a senior living apartment building in Ossining on Thursday. News 12 is told it started in a sixth-floor apartment and at least one person was hurt. The flames did not spread to any other unit in the building, and the fire was able to be contained quickly. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A 50-year-old man is dead after being struck by a car while walking on a sidewalk in the Town of Newburgh. Investigators gathered at the scene outside of Restaurant Depot on Route 300 Wednesday night. Police say a 55-year-old from Newburgh was attempting to park when he struck a curb and jumped onto the sidewalk. The victim was rushed to a hospital, but his injuries were fatal.
