Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Police have arrested a man they say pretended to be someone else to get access to secure areas of the Ulster County Law Enforcement Center. They say Josue Gonzalez walked into the facility on Friday and when authorities figured out what was happening, he ran off. They say he then kicked an officer in the chest, breaking their body camera. The Kingston man faces numerous charges.
Flames damaged a Port Jervis building Monday night. Fire officials say the blaze broke out on the first floor of the home on Orchard Street. They say several propane tanks were found throughout the home and quickly removed. No injuries have been reported.
Two men from Chile were arrested for allegedly trying to burglarize a home in Harrison Friday. Police say Piero Antonio Morales-Marchant and Paul Anthony Montecino-Leiva tried to get into a local residence by breaking a back window. They fled to their residence in Queens and were arrested shortly after with the assistance of the Nassau County Police Department. Both men are being held in Westchester County Jail. Investigators say the men are members of the so-called South American Theft Group. Police say members are known to enter the country illegally or by exploiting a visa waiver "tourism" program and carrying out thefts nationwide.
