Hot, humid with highs near 90 for The Bronx

Here’s what you need to know:
  • An Air Quality Alert is in effect from 11 a.m. through 11 p.m. AQI values can reach over 100 for ground level ozone. People in sensitive groups with respiratory issues, asthma and even allergies should reduce strenuous outdoor activity through this evening.
  • It's mild, calm and noticeably humid this morning. Temperatures are in the upper 60s to low 70s.
  • Today will be another hot and humid day with some haze. Highs will be in the upper 80s, near 90 degrees inland and 70s at the coast.
  • Wildfire smoke from Canada will continue to bring some haze through this afternoon.
  • A few pop-up storms will stay north of the city late this afternoon as high heat and humidity builds into our area.
  • A cold front will approach our area on Friday and pass through the city on Saturday. A few showers/storms move in Friday afternoon/evening. The timing is after 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Storms are likely to weaken as it approaches the coast, but a few downpours and a rumble of thunder can’t be ruled out.
  • Another round of passing showers and t-storms arrive Saturday morning/afternoon. The timing is after 6 a.m. - 4 p.m. The timing is still subject to change, depending on the timing of the front.
  • Sunday will be warm and pleasant with more clouds in the sky for the Puerto Rican Day Parade.
  • Temperatures will be slightly above seasonable in the upper 70s to low 80s next week. The chances of rain return early next week.
