A Hastings teen found a sweet way to give back to the men and women who keep our communities safe.
Maura McCormack started "Cupcakes for Heroes" last year after two officers in NYPD’s 32nd Precinct died in the line of duty. To show her gratitude, McCormack baked cupcakes for the department.
The positive reaction from the officers prompted McCormack to continue the deed in other parts of the Hudson Valley.
"I want to impact the community because I hope that I just performed a small act of kindness and how it impacted them and I want to see how they can replicate that for their own hobbies or how they can help out,” said McCormack.
McCormack plans to drop off her next batch of cupcakes at a local animal shelter and maybe even bring some treats for the animals.
