Harmon Face Values on Quaker Ridge Road in New Rochelle is back, and better than ever.
"I told all my friends, 'Its open, its open!,' That was good," said longtime customer Debbie Fuchs.
" When you look at Harmon 2.0," said Jonah Raskas, the new owner, "it is almost identical to what Harmon 1.0 is and that's on purpose, because our motto is, 'If something's not broken don't fix it.'"
Harmon stores closed back in February of 2023, when its parent company Bed Bath & Beyond filed for bankruptcy. Harmon was collateral damage.
"Harmon was a successful business, it was doing well, it was performing well, and this was a chain that should be here and continue being here," said Raskas.
So as a longtime shopper and private investor, Raskas, bought the brand.
"This was my local store, and it happened to be one of the better performing stores. About a year ago there were 50 stores as part of the Harmon chain and slowly we are rebuilding the brand back again," he said.
This is the first reopened location, and they're hoping to open up more very soon. But not all of them will be in their old spaces.
"People are picking up again right where they were, going to the trial and travel locations, picking out items for their upcoming trip, its like we never left," said Raskas.
The soft opening of the store was about two weeks ago, and they plan to have their grand opening on the weekend of June 28th.
