Teams of high schools students from Westchester County participated Saturday in a hack-a-thon event at Ardsley High School.
Everyone from beginners to complex coders were invited to participate and create a project around the theme of health and fitness using computer code.
They were tasked with making a website, and app, or an applet.
Student Ben Sherman told News 12 that his team made an app called “Health Connect.”
“It's basically a racing game that uses Wii boards to test how fast you're running,” he said.
A microcontroller, which makes coding easier, was the top prize for three lucky teams.
