Gusty winds knock down trees across the Hudson Valley overnight.
News 12 meteorologist Brysen Van Eck says the region sustained winds between 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Van Eck expects the windy weather to continue through the weekend.
In Mount Vernon, two homeowners on Westchester Avenue are counting their lucky stars after a huge tree cracked and fell in between their homes last night.
The section of the tree that broke off just clipped a small portion of one roof and knocked down some wiring, but major damage was avoided. The home didn't lose power, and residents were able to stay in their houses.
