Students at several schools in Greenburgh are back in class today after some frightening moments on Friday.

Schools in the Hartsdale area had to go into heightened alert on Friday when two students at Woodlands High School got into a fight and during the altercation, one of them said something about a gun.

Woodlands High School and the middle school went into lockdown, and neighboring schools, Maria Regina and Leffell went into lockout status, out of an abundance of caution.

Police responded to make sure there was no danger, and after checking into the situation, they found there was no credible threat.

However, the threat of a gun upset many students, parents and staff. "Announcements came on and they shut it down. They all called lockdown. Rumors were spreading that a student had a gun. I panicked," says Woodland High School senior Tiffany Nicholson.

School officials say all the schools are back to normal today, and they reassure parents and students that even the slightest possibility of danger, they will act right away.
