A total of 24 probationary firefighters graduated from a rigorous 17-week training course and will join Yonkers' bravest.
A ceremony for the graduating class was held Friday in downtown Yonkers.
"You're willing to give up everything to protect the citizens of Yonkers and that's something that we're grateful for," said Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano.
The graduates will begin working in firehouses in Yonkers beginning next week.
