An initiative came out of Albany Friday to protect the LGBTQ+ community across the state.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that $13.5 million of the state budget will be for LGBTQ+ health and human services.
It will also require that all state agencies that collect information about a person's gender to provide an option for people to make their gender as "X" if they don't directly identify with either.
