The two dogs who allegedly killed a Rockland County woman's pet goats on two occasions are still caged, while awaiting their fate.
The dogs are being held at the Hi Tor Animal Care Center while a judge decides whether to euthanize them.
Marie Harrow, 83, says she watched her two beloved pet goats, Poppy and Sunny, get mauled to death inside the pen she keeps in the backyard of her home. Harrow says she heard groaning at 3:30 a.m., and when she came out, she found that the dogs had climbed the 9-foot fence to kill the goats.
In an emailed statement, New City resident Jason Feldman expressed his family's sadness and sympathy to Harrow.
But the 83-year-old New City native isn't accepting the apology. She says it's because those same dogs killed another pair of her pet goats two years ago. "The officer had said, watch out, they're going to be back tomorrow and sure enough, they came back," says Harrow.
The Feldmans are denying their dogs had anything to do with the first attack. News 12 has learned that the Feldmans were forced to pay a fine two years ago because their dogs escaped.
