A garbage truck lost control and slammed into a utility pole in Rockland County on Wednesday.
Officials say the truck was collecting recyclables along Linda Drive in Montebello when the accident happened.
The crash knocked down poles and live wires, and some homes lost power.
Police say two men on the back of the truck were able to jump off before the crash. However, the driver was trapped inside. "The Tallman Fire Department was here and used the Jaws of Life to cut some pieces of the truck cab so they were able to get him out. He was able to get out on his own, which was a good thing to see," says Ramapo Police Department Chief Brad Weidel.
The driver was taken to Westchester Medical Center for minor injuries.
