Funeral held for beloved retired Farmingdale teacher killed in bus crash

Beatrice Ferrari was retired, but still stepped in to chaperone on school trips.

A funeral was held for one of the two women killed in the tragic bus crash in Orange County.
Beatrice Ferrari was known as the grandmother of the Farmingdale High School band.
She spent 32 of her 36 years as a global studies teacher in the Farmingdale School District, according the McCourt and Trudden Funeral Home, who are handling her services. In retirement, she continued to chaperone annual trips to band camp.
Ferrari was also a wife, mother of two and grandmother to four. The 77-year-old was killed in a bus crash on I-84 Thursday as the marching band made their way to band camp in Pennsylvania.
A funeral service took place at St. Kilian Parish in Farmingdale at 11 a.m.  A parish where Ferrari served as a volunteer.
She was laid to rest at Saint Charles Cemetery, also in Farmingdale, immediately following the funeral mass.
