A fundraising event was held in Monroe Saturday for an Orange County teenager who suffered severe burns during a campfire accident in March.
Julia Rose Young, 16, was burned over 65 percent of her body when someone poured gasoline over a smoldering fire. The Harriman teen has undergone numerous surgeries and skin grafts since the accident, which has been challenging since her family doesn't have health insurance.
The fundraiser was organized by the American Legion. All the proceeds from the event, which featured raffles, games and a barbecue, will benefit Young.
