News 12 has learned the
French-American School of New York will no longer build a campus in White
Plains.
The school announced the 130 acres property in the
Gedney Farms neighborhood has been sold to a residential developer.
The school purchased the
property back in 2010, but area residents fought the proposal saying it would
create traffic problems and was too big for the neighborhood.
The city eventually approved
a reduced project in 2017.
But over the years, the
school found its space requirements and planning needs evolved leading them to
conclude that selling the property was the best way to go.
