A former West Point Cadet was sentenced Wednesday in a child porn case.
Ricky Hester received eight years from a judge in White Plains Federal Court.
Hester, 25, was convicted in June 2015 of distributing hundreds of images of boys as young as 4 years old in sexual situations.
Investigators say Hester used his cellphone and Yahoo and Dropbox accounts to receive and trade child pornography.
They say Hester sent emails with preferences for boys ages 4 to 10 years old.
Hester never admitted his guilt but during his sentencing said, "I plan to refocus my life in a meaningful way. I promise to make each year of my sentence productive. Someone who is young and dumb will become wise."
The judge called his case "perplexing," saying the images were disturbing and disgusting.
Hester was a senior at the U.S. Military Academy when he was arrested in 2013.
