Florida police arrest suspect in connection to overdoses of West Point Cadets

Broward County deputies arrested 21-year-old Axel Giovany Casseus for selling fentanyl-laced cocaine on Friday.

Authorities in Florida arrested a man in connection to the suspected fentanyl overdoses of West Point Cadets.
Broward County deputies arrested 21-year-old Axel Giovany Casseus for selling fentanyl-laced cocaine on Friday.
According to narcotics investigators, Casseus confessed to selling cocaine to the cadets.
Police say four victims took cocaine laced with fentanyl, while two others overdosed from performing CPR on them.
A spokesperson from West Point says one of the four cadets taken to the hospital is a football player. They say of the six people involved, one was not taken to the hospital and another was not a cadet.
Police say one of the victims is still in the ICU in critical condition.
Casseus is being held at the Broward County jail on a $50,000 bond.
