Flights around the country were delayed or canceled Friday after a fire at an FAA control tower in Chicago.
Many travelers were stranded at the Westchester County Airport in Harrison after 850 flights were canceled in Chicago due to the fire, delaying more elsewhere. Police say an employee set the fire in a suicide attempt.
Flights in and out of Chicago stopped for about five hours until they began to resume slowly at around 1 p.m. Police say they found the employee accused of starting the fire with burns and self-inflicted knife wounds.
