The town is receiving $600,000 in federal funding next year to purchase body cameras and other technology.
Officials have wanted them for years, but could not afford the big expense.
News 12 is told the funding was secured by Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D), who submitted 15 community projects to the House Appropriations Committee.
All of them were funded, bringing a total of $29 million to the Hudson Valley.
The police department has also purchased GPS systems for police vehicles, added a school resource officer, and authorized the town's participation in the Dutchess County Drug Taskforce.
The addition of body cameras is part of their larger mission to strengthen the department.
