Some Yonkers firefighters helped deliver a baby boy on Wednesday.
The crew from Yonkers Engine Company 304 responded to a call about a woman in labor, and they stepped in to help during the final stages of birth. "The father was at the door telling us the baby's head was showing. As we walked in the door, the baby popped into the grandmother's waiting arms as we immediately assisted. Firefighter John Braun clamped and cut the cord, while Nate Quintero administered oxygen to the mother and assured her she gave birth to a healthy baby boy," says Yonkers Fire Department Lt. John Pyrch.
The mother and baby are now at the hospital and doing fine
Two of the firefighters who helped out are also expecting babies in the near future.
