Volunteers responded to two fires in Hyde Park on Thursday as crews worked to limit damage at both scenes.

Firefighters say a two‑alarm fire broke out Thursday evening at a private residence. The Roosevelt and West Clinton fire districts responded and were able to keep most of the damage contained to the house.

Earlier in the day, a garage fire brought firefighters from Fairview and Pleasant Valley. Crews stopped the flames from spreading to a nearby house.
