Search teams have still not found the body of the kayaker who went missing on the Hudson River last month.
Police say Angelika Graswald, 35, is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 46-year-old Vincent Viafore. The two were engaged.
Graswald is being held in the Orange County Jail without bail.
Graswald and Viafore were in separate kayaks on the Hudson River on April 19 when Viafore's kayak capsized near Cornwall.
Graswald says she called 911 before being tossed into the rough waters herself. She was wearing a life jacket and was rescued by a nearby boater, but Viafore, who police say wasn't wearing a life jacket, was never found.
Investigators say the more they questioned Graswald, the more suspicious they became in her role in Viafore's death. Police have not released a motive for the crime, but say they have enough evidence to make the charge without having found the victim's body.
Meanwhile, state police and Dutchess County Sheriff's Office boats are out on the Hudson River Friday, continuing the search for his body. They say they're using advanced sonar on the boats, and that divers will be called in if they spot something.
