An 18-year-old Spring Valley man is accused of sexually assaulting three 13-year-old girls and portraying himself as younger than his actual age while pursuing the victims, according to police.
Spring Valley police say they launched a joint sexual assault investigation with Ramapo police on Sept. 30 involving Alan Vasquez-Alarcon and a 13-year-old girl. Investigators determined Vasquez-Alarcon was involved in a sexual relationship with the juvenile that occurred in both Spring Valley and Ramapo.
While that investigation was ongoing, police became involved in a missing person case on Oct. 6 involving a second 13-year-old girl. Investigators learned the missing juvenile may also have been involved in an intimate relationship with Vasquez-Alarcon.
Police say officers went to a residence on Lafayette Street to locate Vasquez-Alarcon and the missing girl. When officers arrived, Vasquez-Alarcon allegedly fled but was quickly apprehended. The missing juvenile was later found inside the residence.
Further investigation determined Vasquez-Alarcon had engaged in sexual intercourse with the missing teen, according to police.
Detectives then uncovered a third case involving another 13-year-old girl. Police say detectives located the victim and determined Vasquez-Alarcon had sexually assaulted her as well.
During the investigation, detectives learned Vasquez-Alarcon portrayed himself as younger than he actually was when interacting with the victims.
Police have not released additional information about the charges he faces.
