The heartbroken fiancée of a Newburgh car dealership manager killed in an incident at work is speaking with News 12 about her frustration with the investigation, five months after his death.

Justin Grater, 47, died last May following that incident at Hudson Valley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram on Route 17-K.

Town of Newburgh police say his coworker, Marlboro Town Councilman Ed Molinelli, was moving a dealership vehicle when he fatally struck Grater, dragged him across the parking lot and a busy four-lane road.

Authorities say the incident remains under investigation.

Grater’s fiancée, who has since legally changed her last name in honor of him, says their family is upset by the lack of closure and questions the circumstances of what happened.

“We are extremely worried there’s not going to be any justice in this case,” says Grater. “There’s not a single day that goes by that i don’t think about him. It’s a huge loss.”

News 12 has repeatedly checked in with town of Newburgh police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office on the case. It says the investigation is expected to take time.

News 12 reached out to Molinelli and the dealership for comment but haven’t heard back.
