The women of a Bronxville family that for generations have given birth to children at Lawrence Hospital proudly continued that tradition this week.

Lauren Mehran says her son, Robert Jay, arrived a week earlier than expected when he was born Nov. 28. Mehran, who lives in Nassau County, says her choice to give birth at Lawrence Hospital has significance.

"This just seemed natural. It seemed like a natural part of how life should go," she says. "He's part of this family now. He'll be part of all that's close-knit and the love that we have."
