An Elmsford family says a Valhalla cemetery removed personal items from their loved one's gravesite.
Joseph Sabatini died in November of 2021. His wife, Emily Sabatini, went to the Grave of Heaven Cemetery where her late husband is buried to commemorate their 56th anniversary. She noticed personal belongings that her family placed there were removed.
The cemetery said in a statement to News 12, "All cemeteries, including Gate of Heaven, have rules and regulations on what can and cannot be left at a gravesite. This is both for the safety of the workers who maintain the cemetery, and to ensure that the cemetery remains a dignified and peaceful place for all."
