The family of a Hudson Valley mother killed by her ex-husband is speaking out after the former Dutchess County corrections officer was found guilty of murder.
Terrie DeGelormo, 34, was stabbed multiple times in 2018 and killed by her young son’s father, Timothy Alexander, shortly after their divorce.
Alexander was found guilty Thursday of murder.
DeGelormo’s family say they’re grateful for the closure, but they’ll never recover from their loss.
“The guilty verdict is only the beginning part of healing, but it doesn’t bring her back. It doesn’t help us explain to Ryan how his mother was so callously taken from this Earth by his father," says Jessica DeGelormo, the victim's sister-in-law.
Timothy Alexander will be sentenced June 8.
He faces anywhere from 15 years to life in prison.
