Thursday will mark one full week since the condo building collapse in Surfside, Florida -- families whose loved ones are still missing remain anxious, including former Ardsley resident Rachel Spiegel.
Spiegel's mother Judy, 65, lived in the tower that collapsed and is still unaccounted for.
The Spiegel family, known for their work advocating for STEM research and Holocaust remembrance, hopes to meet President Joe Biden in Florida Thursday.
"My dad wants to meet with the President, so I'm trying to do anything I can just to shake his hand and make sure he knows who my mom is. I'm not going to stop until everyone knows who my mom is and that we're looking for her," Spiegel said.
Rachel says she and her family know the odds are against them, especially as the days go on, but believe a miracle could happen.
The family set up a support fund page.
