People are heading to Orange County to enjoy a simpler time where fantasy rules.
Thousands of people attend the Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo Park each year, taking in a world of fairies, peasants and pirates.
A total of 2,000 turkey legs, each one taking four hours to roast, are prepared every day to feed guests. Local costume shops create handmade outfits for the event, each taking several months to a year to make.
The main event is the jousting tournament, where participants suit up in more than 60 pounds of armor to compete.
The Renaissance Faire runs through Sept. 27.
