A doctor is offering some tips on how to avoid cracking, chafing and itchy skin during the cold weather.
Dr. Ernest Patti, of Saint Barnabas Hospital, says the first step is to moisturize, including the inside of your nose.
He says another important tip is to use a humidifier because it creates humid air inside your room and apartment.
Dr. Patti says it may also help to go inside your closet and change your clothes as often as possible.
In addition, Patti says it is also important to drink water and take cool, short showers and baths.
