Officials say the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Shomari Knox occurred at around 5 a.m. Wednesday at South Ninth Avenue and West Third Street.Residents say they heard three shots fired, followed by a loud bang. Officials say the bang was the sound of a minivan slamming into a parked car. The minivan was sprayed with bullets and Knox was found inside. Witnesses say Knox may have been shot in the neck and may have choked on his own blood.According to residents, Knox was about to become a father and the family recently had a baby shower.Another shooting occurred Aug. 8 a few blocks from Wednesday?s incident.
