A former NYPD officer from Orange County is set to spend five years on probation following a drunk-driving incident that resulted in her husband's death.
Bernadine Thomas was speeding at more than 100 mph on the Palisades Parkway when her vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree in Haverstraw, according to the state attorney general.
The crash occurred in February 2023, leading to the death of her 36-year-old husband.
Thomas has pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide and is scheduled for sentencing in May.
