A former Ulster County medevac pilot accused of secretly recording nearly two dozen victims and downloading images of child sex abuse last year is now facing new charges.

David Mulhauser, of North Arlington, was indicted Friday for allegedly having images that promote child sexual abuse, unlawful surveillance and for possessing a ghost gun.

The 42-year-old was charged with eight counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child, eight counts of possession a sexual performance by a child and one count of criminal possession of a firearm.

According to the Ulster County officials, Mulhauser worked for Life Net in the Town of Shawangunk when he allegedly engaged in the behavior and was first charged last year.

Authorities say Maulhauser, who previously lived in the Town of Gardiner, was found with 170 homemade recordings, involving 21 victims, from a camera disguised as a smoke detector. They say the recordings were taken inside an Ulster County bathroom at a residence and at his place of employment.

The Ulster County District Attorney’s Office says he was found with 443 images depicting child sex abuse.

The case was investigated by several agencies including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

He was previously charged with 17 counts of unlawful surveillance, possession of a sexual performance by a child and criminal possession of a firearm and released on an appearance ticket.

Mulhauser was arraigned on the new charges Friday and ordered to Ulster County Jail on $100,000 cash bail. According to online jail records, he has since been released after posting bond.

News 12 reached out to Mulhauser’s attorney for comment but didn’t immediately receive a response.

Mulhauser is due back in Ulster County Court Sept. 30.
