The ex-con actor accused of being the bomb bandit was in a Mount Pleasant court Thursday to be arraigned on robbery charges.
David Wayne Britton, 47, is accused of robbing several places across Westchester in a two-week span. Police say Britton?s spree began on November 17 at a Comfort Inn in Hawthorne. They say he also tried to rob a Wendy?s in Hawthorne. Police say Britton would show workers what looked like a bomb strapped to his chest and demand money. Police say he robbed four other places before being recognized from a sketch and arrested.
Britton served 14 years in Sing Sing Prison for robbery and weapons convictions. It was there he became involved in acting through a program called RehabilitationThrough the Arts. In May, Britton landed a role on TV?s ?Law and Order.? He is being held in Westchester County Jail without bail.
