The ex-con actor accused of being the Westchester bomb bandit is now playing the role of an inmate.
David Wayne Britton, of Croton-on-Hudson, appeared in a Greenburgh court Tuesday where he was given a court-appointed attorney and pleaded not guilty. Britton faces robbery charges in six separate incidents throughout Westchester where police say he pretended to be a suicide bomber. Police say Britton had what looked like explosives taped to his chest, and told workers he had AIDS and was not afraid to die. Britton was arrested last week after a customer recognized him from a police sketch after an alleged robbery in Hartsdale.
The 47-year-old got involved with acting while in Sing Sing Prison for a previous robbery conviction. He recently appeared on an episode of ?Law and Order.? Britton is being held at Westchester County Jail without bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for December 19.
