The search continues for a New Rochelle boy who has now been missing for more than a year.

King Richards turned 12 years old today, but he has not been seen since March of last year.

Police say King was taken by his father, Dwight Richards Sr., during a custodial situation.

Family members gathered over the weekend to hand out flyers and ask the public for help in finding him.

“He was a big part of our family… now we don’t know where he is, we don’t know if he’s safe or anything,” said his grandmother, Rosalyn Wallace.

Relatives say they continue to worry about his well-being as time passes without answers.

“I would say to him, you messed up… you’re harming my brother. He needs to be a regular kid. You kidnapped him,” said Chantia Thomas, the suspect’s daughter.

Police say there are no new leads in the case.

King’s family says they will continue searching and raising awareness until he is found.
